Law Courts
Saint John, NB

Expected Completion: Summer 2012

The design of the Saint John Law Courts is an expression of its functionality and the city it serves. Sitting on a sloped site the building steps back as it moves up the hill to evoke the image of many smaller buildings layered together mimicking the architectural composition of uptown Saint John. Within this form the aim was to provide maximum flexibility while also giving a sense of solidity and permanence on the exterior. Through massing, fenestration, and articulation of materials the outside of the building expresses its interior functions while also responding sensitively to the Uptown building fabric.
